Join Brick Builders as a Birthday Party Entertainer

Are you an energetic, outgoing individual who enjoys working with young children? Do you love LEGO? Can you create amazing designs out of these well-loved plastic bricks and share your enthusiasm with primary school aged children?

In 2015, Brick Builders Ltd will celebrate five years of running LEGO themed birthday parties in the Auckland region and we’re looking to expand by hiring new party entertainers who can combine a creative outlook with oodles of patience.

We are currently looking to employ new entertainment staff to cater for increased bookings as the reputation of our fun and unique birthday party format spreads.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Our parties run on Saturdays and Sundays and last for 2 hours each with a range of games and activities to entertain young children aged from 5 to 10. We go out to family homes or hired community venues with bucket loads of LEGO and creative, team-based and engineering themed games that encourage free thinking, collaboration and a small dose of competition.

Successful applicants will need their own car and will report to a central Auckland location to collect their party kit each weekend and then travel to birthday party locations stretching from Whangaparaoa in the north down to Karaka in the south.

We need people who are:

  • Energetic and friendly – great with kids and parents alike and keen to make every birthday party an event to remember.
  • Well presented and enthusiastic – happy to work hard to engage with all kinds of young people around the Auckland region and be an ambassador for the Brick Builders company.
  • Reliable – committed to starting work at 9am each Saturday or Sunday come rain or shine and able to turn on a friendly smile.

Your ability to entertain and interact with children is more important than an encyclopedic knowledge of LEGO parts as we want to deliver a fun party experience that’s talked about for weeks afterwards.

Previous experience of working with children is desirable – babysitting friends and family is good, even better is experience of coaching or leading groups of young people. Please note: all applicants will be required to undergo a police vetting check before being appointed as safety is key.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER:

We can provide new Brick Builders party entertainers with plenty of ongoing weekend work.

We will provide a branded uniform T-shirt, thousands of dollars worth of LEGO parts and a proven party system that entertains and delights adults and children alike.

Working hours: 9am to 5pm, Saturdays and Sundays.

Pay rate: Up to $25/hr and we will cover your mileage at IRD rates.

Please note: We are happy to work around your availability and existing commitments – you do not have to commit to working both Saturdays and Sundays or every weekend if you need to study or have other weekend interests.

To apply: send your CV and an email explaining why you’d be perfect for this role to jobs@brickbuilders.co.nz. Please include details of two personal referees who we can contact after a face-to-face interview.
